Section your hair in four equal quarters for easy and better application of henna. Starting from the scalp, apply henna paste with a brush from hair roots to the ends. Keep repeating the process of henna application until hair is thickly coated with the henna paste. Fix a cotton or tissue around the hairline. And, cover the henna coated hair with shower cap, old towel or with a plastic wrap. Leave henna for 45- 60 minutes. Rinse it off with normal water and then wash hair with a mild shampoo. For more intense shade, leave it for another 15- 30 minutes. STRAND TEST It is advisable to do a strand test before applying henna to the entire scalp. Select one inch section and apply henna onto it, to know what color it may leave on your hair texture.
